Travel Times

one of the best things of being here is their efficient transport system.
all major establishments are accessible and all scheduled arrival and travel times are being followed.

an ETA for a bus will often always arrive at the designated time and if they happen to be running early they make stops to ensure that they arrive on time. People expect buses and trains to arrive on time and they plot their itinerary with what's posted in the transport terminals.

also, since on time lahat eh tuloy tuloy ang daloy ng sasakyan. Like for example a 45 minute travel time there in manila will get me from caloocan edsa (toyota balintawak sa gilid ng victoria motel sa may sa amin) south bound going into sm.

whereas, comparing the distance and speed of travel here to manila roads, the 45 minute travel time will get you from makati to the fort (kaso sa edsa-valenzuela-commonwealth-katipunan-antipolo-crossing-edsa-whiteplains ka dumaan)

see the difference?

siguro dahil na rin with how they treat commuting as a whole. dito kasi govt owned. so patas patas lahat ng byahe, tapos ticket system so swelduhan iyung mga driver. tapos wala pang conductor na kasama kasi pagsakay pa lang eh bayad ka na

sa atin dyan sa pinas kasi ang mga bus eh privately owned tapos commisioned based pa. did you know that drivers and kundoctors get a 15% commision from ticket sales? kaya naman pagkamay kumaway na pasahero maski nasa left shoulder sila eh pipiliting makuha iyung pasahero (sayang ang kita). tapos dagdag mo pa iyung libreng merienda sa mga sumasampa; libreng mane sa peanut vendor, tabloid sa magdadyaryo, tubig sa mineral water, kick back na pera sa mga holdaper at snatcher pati siguro sa mga sumasampang nagsesermon dati eh may libreng kaligtasan din sila.
